So I had an appointment booked to have all my glass tinted to 50% except the windshield because I thought my car had no tint. I ended up cancelling the appointment once I noticed on the corner of all my glass that I already have a factory tint of 70%. This got me thinking about what everyone else has for factory tint. Techically where I'm from it's illegal to tint the front driver/passenger windows and the windshield which makes my factory tint illegal.

What part of Canada are you from?

In Alberta it's illegal to have any tint on the front windows as well, but I believe factory tinted is allowed. But in 10 years of driving with 35% tint I've only been stopped once.

I just checked and I do too !!!
I was wondering for the longest time why at some angle from a distance I thought my windows were darker ... :alien:
well well well , we have factory tint of 70% !!

Woah... now I'm going to have to go out and look!

edit - yup 70% here too.... (needs to be darker, IMHO - so I'm going to tint it)

I didnt look at the rear windows but I am assuming it is the same. not bad to have factory tint though

I just picked up my new Stinger last Thursday and was also surprised to find out that it had factory tint. I couldn’t find it listed anywhere in the specs of the car.
I ended up tinting the windows a bit darker as I got a really good deal on ceramic tint which helps keep the heat out of the car.
I’m still curious to know if all Stingers come with the factory tint? I would assume so.
Does anyone have any information that details the factory tint?

Ok so I did find a line item describing ‘lightly tinted’. That said when I picked mine up I took this picture and when I compare it to a picture of a Stinger from one in stock at another dealer it looks much darker. Just find it strange.

I believe they are all tinted.. very slightly. Even the windshield has some tint/colour in it... I just got mine replaced (rock chip and crack) and noticed it is marked "Transp > 70%"

I noticed your hood. Did you get it wrapped or is it carbon fiber hood?

Yeah mine has light tinted glass. It is even stated on the price window sticker.

Carbon fiber seibon hood. I dont recommend as in just 2 years the clear coat has completely worn away. I have contacted seibon and they didnt care. Buuuut just to say this out loud. I have owned an 87 mazda rx7 that had a seibon hood from the 90's and that hood was mint up till the day i sold the car. Then this seibon hoods clear basicly washed off lol. The oem style is preferred by me.

Ok so no to carbon fiber hood however I do like the look of it so I’ve been thinking about wrapping the hood with carbon fiber wrap.

I dont mean no to CF as you do lose about 25 to 35 pounds just by replacing the hood. Carbon fiber is great but this specific hood must have had a factory flaw with the clearcoat. If you wrap make sure you spend more money on very high quality vinyl because a bad wrap ruins a car and even worse a bad carbon fiber wrap is even worse

Almost all vehicles today are factory tinted to some degree. Even before I had my 2001 Corvette tinted, it came out to like 72% VLT with a tint meter.

Thanks for the advice.
