I’m looking at getting some ark springs installed on my awd stinger and I’m wondering how you guys with awd are liking them. I’m mostly concerned about grounding out. Do you guys find there’s still enough room to not rub after springs? The ark is supposed to only be around a inch. I know most of the other springs are more then that and I have not read of people having issues but that could be because they are rwd. Any info would be great!

i think u would be fine. i have the ark gt-s springs they are more aggressive drop prob lie 1.2"-1.5" of a drop i don't rub but i don't have wheels just stock oem. oh btw i am RWD hope that helps

+1 I’d love to find some springs that gave me the handling improvements but dropped less than 1” overall... 1/2 - 3/4 drop with stiffer response and a bit tighter feel would be bought already

Your not going to bottom out with springs unless you are on roads that shouldn’t be driven on or don’t know how to drive a lowered car.

Even with springs the stinger isn’t stock corvette low.

Have you got speed humps over their? I've bottomed out over them here and that's driving slowly. When I drove over in England the speed humps were twice as big. Lowered cars wouldn't have crossed them.

Plenty of speed bumps here, but none of them are more than 3-4 inches tall. Anything bigger than that we call a curb.

I'd say our speed bumps generally are bigger then. Our kerbs are on the side of the road. The ramp type humps found on pedestrian crossings aren't an issue it's the lone humps that can be a problem.

Anyone else’s with lowered stingers have clearance issues? I’m mostly worried about going up a steeper driveway.

I have the AWD Model, and lowered (Eibach springs). I'm not sure about the Canadian curb height, but the US curb height is just high enough to catch the underside of the bumper. I have not done this yet, but waiting for that time I pull to far forward. It's certainly lower, and easier to scrape but I always go over bumps, and steep intersections at an angle. Even non-lowered vehicles I hit at an angle. Squaring up a drive is always the worst idea.

TL/DR - Be careful and be aware, go at everything at an angle and don't pull too forward.

I’m thinking of getting the ark springs because they are the least aggressive drop. I’ve also thought about getting the front springs cut. No much but just enough to get rid of the front rake of the awd models. Would probably only have to come down 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch max.

I’m on Eibachs, RWD and on 18” wheels. If going over speed humps/bumps too quickly the front does bottom out, so have to be a little more careful when previously on stock springs.

Ive had the Ark springs on my car for about a month now (AWD as well) and I cant honestly tell any difference in ride quality whatsoever. It lowers the car perfectly. I haven't bottomed out either and I put about 1000 miles on my car a month. My shop was also able to align it to within spec as well. It hasn't rubbed and so far I havent scraped anywhere. I can go over speed bumps just fine as well. As far as performance, not going to lie, I havent really tested it since I dont really drive my car that hard in corners. I highly recommend them!

Thanks for your review you just sold me on the ark springs! I plan on doing ark springs and getting wheels painted gloss black.

Bump for more experiences with clearance and rubbing with lowering springs.

Still never bottomed out or scraped anywhere for me. They're excellent. K8 Stinger Store had the best prices.

I'd love to lower mine, but since I will be driving in snow on occasion and the road leading to my house is often littered with raccoon and porcupine bodies, I cant do it.
