Noticed on my drive into work this morning that my exhaust crackles when letting off the gas now start to sound choppy, almost like my car has an aftermarket cam in it instead of a consistent, constant crackle. I can attach a video on my drive home that way you can hear it, but bear with me, it sounds more like a pop-----pop-----pop-----pop-----pop rather than the popcorn bag sounding poppoppoppoppoppop I remember.
No check engine lights as far as I can tell and the car seems to be driving fine. Had an issue recently with a Map sensor CEL and some weird idling but that seems to have been fixed by redoing my spark plugs. Could it be because I have pretty aggressively gapped plugs ~0.022-0.024 and recently removed my JB4 because it stopped working? Is it possible that because the JB4 isn't modifying fuel values it's causing 1 side of the engine to not exhaust unspent fuel for 1 reason or another? Could one of my cats be getting fouled up and causing one side to not crackle?
Is this something I should look into as a potential issue or am I just hyper-fixating on something and worrying that there is a problem? Am I just being paranoid or could this possibly be related to the map sensor/shitty idling issue I've been intermittently dealing with the last month or so.
