I have a 2020 GT2, I’ve read on here and from personal experience only having owned the car for 1 day. Does the exhaust sound controlled internally actually work?

- what does it actually do?

On that same note; I am looking to at some point (soon possibly) upgrade the exhaust. That said I am looking for something that has a rich/ deep sound to it, however only when in sport mode (if possible) I am good with the lower end sound ( stock) when I’m in eco mode and daily driving the car. However would want a much deeper sound when I am seeking to floor it per say.

- exhaust recommendation? And does any exhaust system allow me to open it up per say or go from stock/silent mode to full throttle mode upon switching a setting?

Outside of such, for simple gain of power and possibly nice turbo sound. I read that possibly upgrading the intakes would do such ? Maybe add a BOV too?

With all three items I’m mentioning do you know if any void the factory warranty (exhaust, BOV, Intake)

Thank you all in advance,

If by internal you mean the option in the the car's radio, that's sound that's just piped in via the rear speakers, personally I have that disabled, it's not very noticeable though. 2020 doesn't have an valves in the actual exhaust or a way of controlling them.

There are some aftermarkets that allow you to change sound but it won't be linked to the car's performance setting and usually have a separate remote or through a phone via bluetooth. Fi-Exhaust, Jun BL, and Tubi have valvtronic offerings but aren't cheap.

there's a bunch of threads on exhausts on this forum I'd just check them out before you make a choice.

Turbo sounds you get mostly from swapping to open element filters.

BOV is only if you want the BOV psssshhhhh, no real performance gain from that.

None of this stuff really give much in performance gains without a tune.

As far as warranty goes, they technically have to prove that whatever you did caused the issue to void that portion of the warranty. YMMV though this can be more trouble than it's worth best to speak with whatever dealer about it before doing it to get a feel for how they react.

Hey Gus0721,

Welcome to the Stinger Forum and congrats on your new 2020 Stinger.

The Active Sound settings are pumped in audio in the speakers for performance perception.

If you are looking to get more dramatic sound & performance gains, I recommend getting a Catback Exhaust.

Keep an eye out for our annual Black Friday Cyber Monday Sale starting this Thursday, November 25th at 5PM PST.

Please reach out if you have any questions or need suggestions!

Enjoy the new ride,

Daniel @ the K8 Stinger Store
