So I've read some reviews on ethanol instead of meth and was curious if I've already got the wmi kit on my car could I use ethanol instead. Was wondering if any have tried and what the result was.

The whole point of methanol injection is to cool the intake charge. Methanol has a slight higher latent heat of evaporation (1104 J/g) than ethanol (841 J/g), so ethanol would be almost as effective as methanol. Actually, water is even higher, at 2257 J/g. However, issue with water is that it does not flash into gaseous phase as readily as the the alcohols. Splash both on your skin and feel the difference. Methanol has the lower boiling point of all 3, which is why it is excellent for this purpose.

If you use ethanol, just lower the amount of water in the mix, to get closer to the effectiveness of the typical water-methanol mix.

That's a very informed well put together response. Appreciate it!

I've run E-50 in my WMI tank in the past with good results. If you get to a point where you're running out of fuel meaning the HPFP is struggling, that is an option. E-50 has a much higher STOICH ratio than a WMI 50/50 mix, yet provide near identical octane levels. Basically you get more fuel at the same octane and the extra E assists in the cooling of both IATs and cylinder temps.

Do you actually have WMI already, or are you thinking about getting it and having the option to run methanol or ethanol?

Because many people who have ready access to E85 go with Charge Pipe Injection (CPI) instead: basically a 7th fuel injector mounted port-style and run off your low pressure fuel pump, to sidestep the limitations of the HPFP (which limits you to about E30-40).

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Currently have the meth system installed. Figured if all it was was a change in what fluid goes in the tank to get a little more power thought what the hell give it a go.
