Erie Insurance experiences

I've been quoting out various companies recently. Trying to get away from geico to get the house+car with the same company. Got a decent quote from an Erie agent on both.

Anyone have any experience with this company?

I've been using Erie insurance for years, through a smaller/local agency in Ohio. They cover my vehicles + house, and I use them for life insurance.

They have some of the best rates around for me and have great customer service. Of course this is through a local agency, not sure if it will vary for you.

Their rate was marginally lower for the house+car, ~$200/yr less. The agent is ok. My main concern is level of headache during a claim (house or car).

Have you had to deal with their claims dept yet? What was the experience?

Same over here; they have had one of the best rates around me for 9+ years.

I have not yet had to file a claim with them so I can't speak to that area, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't at least a small headache.
