Good morning all, I’m planning to remove my chrome stinger script with a black one. I know it’s painted plastic where the current one is.

Is it safe to use an eraser wheel on it? What is the best option since it’s painted plastic?

Thank you.

use goo gone after you get it off, and take your time. Just a finger nail or something else plastic to get the sticky stuff off.

Plasti- dip it instead of replacing it.

Wouldn't taping it off and attempting to dip it be more work or potentially messier?

Technically you don't even need to tape off emblems before using plasti-dip. But using tape will keep the mess down.

You're probably better off replacing the emblem. It'll last longer than plasti-dip and it will come out with a smoother texture so you don't have towels/sponges getting caught on the little paint pores.

And like already mentioned, Goo-Gone!

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Agreed. I used plastidip originally and it was ok from a distance but eventually started peeling in the corners. Then I found the gloss black stinger emblem on eBay for like $14, and it looks great and so much easier to clean.

Got it. It’ll be here in the next few days. It should really clean up the trunk along with the CF tips.

Thanks sir.
