Hey everyone, haven't really posted here for a while or needed help like this but this is a first for me. I got my oil changed and then a day later I received an engine overheating notice while I was on the way to work. I turned the heat on and got off the highway and the temp instantly went down and the notice disappeared within a few minutes. Admittedly, I heard the fans running after some shorter drives before the oil change so I can't put full blame on that, but still never happened until after my oil change lol. Regardless, my first thought was to check coolant and I noticed it was below the line so I added a sufficient amount.
Now after this, the car ran fine for about two days. That includes driving to work, highway driving, etc etc. Then randomly the engine overheating notification popped up again, this time on literally a 5 minute drive to wherever. Some protocol I pulled over as I was near home and turned the heat on and it went away almost instantly. I since have not drove and I'm wondering what my next steps are. My thought based on google and other posts is to do a bleed of the system via kia, and then look at the thermostat if the coolant bleed does not help. Is there a better way to go about this?
