Recently I noticed engine “clicks” when idle. It’s not a belt and it’s not the AP intakes. It doesn’t sound like it’s turbos either. Doesn’t get louder with engine revs. Sounds like it’s clicking on the block towards the firewall, bilaterally, but sounds louder (to me) on drivers side.

My wife’s Dodge Journey with 80k miles doesn’t click, and my old Scion tC didn’t click like this either. Any ideas?
I did get an oil change about 700 miles ago, could it be a different oil?

Its a bomb! Ive notice all my Kia and Hyundais had that sound. Its always been there for me going back about 3-4 cars. First car I was worried, but noticed it in every car as soon as I pop the hood. if you can hear it with your windows rolled up and in the cabin I would worry.

I only hear it outside, I also hear it when against a wall (drive thru) or in a parking lot between cars.

Ticking is common with direct injection, probably was always there and you're just noticing it.

Does it change as the engine warms up? I've noticed mine is pretty clacky for the first minute or so. Thinner oil will make this more noticable.

Otherwise, it is a fairly noisy engine. There's not as much noise insulation around the engine as some other cars.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I thought the ticking sound was the high pressure underhood fuel pump...

It is the high pressure fuel pump making the noise. There is a giant piece of foam on the fuel pump to quiet it down. If you move it you can hear it very clearly. Also the dealer ship said the fuel pump pressurizes the fuel to 1050 psi.
