Hi,

I accidentally unfastened the hood opening cable when i was installing K&N intake... and closed the hood :( Is there any way to emergency open the hood?

oh crap. in for an answer!

From front, looking through the grill, just behind the front camera i can see the hood lock. But the gap is so small and I can't see where to "push" :(

I think that without a visit in the dealer service, it will not be possible to open the hood .. stupid me :(

Can anyone check in their car and take a picture for me, where the cable is attached in the lock? And which way and what does it pull when the hood opens? Maybe i can reach it from the front of the car.
This is it?

Looks like the cable pulls to the right. You can see the mechanism through the grill, but the cable is covered with plastic or something. I can't imagine what you could use to pull it to the right. You may need some dealer assistance unless someone knows a trick about how to release it.

If you can get under the car and remove the front engine bay cover you might be able to get to the mechanism with a long handle screwdriver or something similar. Getting it on a hoist would make it so much easier.

Great!!! Thanks a lot! I will try it today, after work.

I couldn't manage it my self. Dealer service helped me today. Unfortunately, I couldn't be in the hall during the repair, but I saw something through the window. Then I talked to the mechanic and he said that there is no way to get to the lock from the bottom of the car. Same on the side. He managed to unscrew the lock from the car body through the inlets in the front grill. Thanks to this, the mask raised 1-2 cm. It was still locked, but then, through the gap, he managed to slide the folded bar through and feel the latch ... magic 'click' and the mask opens.
So ... if somone do the same thing or hood cable will broke, then it's not a tragedy. Service needs 30 minutes to open the hood. My stupidy costs me 150 PLN (aprox. 40$).

Wow. Glad it’s fixed.
