Eibach Anti-Roll Sway Bar Kit with Springs for Kia Stinger GT

So I was poking around the rear of the car tonight and noticed the stock rear sway bar is only 15mm. This seems really small, especially considering how flat the car handles. I was also surprised to see this upgraded bar is only 19mm. For comparison my GLI rear bar is 21mm, and the Eibach M3 bar is 25mm.

Anyone have any ideas why the rear bar would be so small?

i would keep in mind when looking at suspension components that they are designed to work with what may already be installed. Comparing a single part in size to another for a different car is pointless. The M3 may need a larger sway bar cause the spring rates are considerably different from than the stinger, you also have to take into account weight distribution, vehicle weight, Strut dampening force and even tire tread width and rim size. Suspension tuning is a very intricate balance of take and give.

That being said, even though the factory rear bar on the stinger is 15mm we dont know if its hollow or not, i'm guessing its solid based on the behavior of the car in tight sweeping corners. Increasing only to 19mm maybe all that is needed to reduce body roll further with out overloading the suspension or the tires.

Are the springs for the AWD version or RWD?

I imagine the suspension's helping the roll and 15 to 19 is what, about 28% increase in thickness? Not insubstantial, I'd think.

@Paul @ K8 Stinger Store , the pictures on your site for the PRO-PLUS kit (springs and bars), the individual roll bars, and the front/rear combined roll bar kit all show different bars, with different mounting holes, bar shape, and mount fittings.

Is this because they are generic pictures - or are the sway bars in fact different depending on which option you go with? The specifications all state 19mm front, 25mm rear.

Those are all generic pictures. The stinger parts are different than any of those pictures

Good to hear - thanks for the info. I've had the rear end at the edge of losing it's composure a time or two, most notably in a fast sweeper on a nearby highway ramp with a dip midway through the curve. Would be nice to quash that behaviour and also take out some of the overall body roll, but I don't want to do that at the expense of the supple ride I've been enjoying.

Sounds like this might be a good solution, maybe with just the bars to start with ...

Just a heads up, check with wherever you purchase if they actually have them in stock in their possession ready to ship. Most online sellers drop ship. Which normally is fine except that Eibach springs and bars are in high demand for the Stinger and are on constant back order and they are still filling a long back log of orders, so an order placed now could take weeks or months to fill. There are a few retailers that carry them in their own inventory, but even those guys sell out quickly.
