Dry filter for K&N

I currently have the K&N CAI installed on my 18 GT2, obviously love the sound of the vehicle. I was wondering, however, if there is a dry filter that would fit the current K&N CAI? I know Injen is dry, but would those fit around the K&N’s?

I believe K&N makes a dry version of all there filters, so they should have a dry version direct replacement.
 
AEM is owned by K&N. All those are dry filters, I believe. See what they have.
Yep - AEM and K&N are essentially the same setup. The difference being that K&N uses metal tubes and oiled filters, while AEM used plastic tubing and dry filters.

The part number for the replacement filter for the AEM kits is 21-2093DK. I would take some measurements to be sure they fit, but I can't imagine they would be too different to use.

Great! I’ll check it out. I just don’t have the time or patience to clean em out lol.

Same. I did it once with some drop-in filters back in high school. Cleaning (or recharging) wasn't a common need, but it is more of a PITA than I wanted to deal with again.
 
Oiled vs dry. What’s the pro & con on both?
besides the oiled one having the be recharged.

I'm guessing that they both trap a similar amount of particles, but with some tradeoffs. AEM probably has a more dense synthetic fiber filter than the K&N, but not as dense as OEM. The K&N may use a less dense cotton material that is oiled to rely on a higher surface energy to filter. Both sites say that they are washable and recommend doing it after 50k miles. K&N has to be washed reoiled, while AEM is just a spray cleaner. They both also mention that they are "lab tested", which to me says that the filters probably remove similar amounts of particulate as they may be conforming to some automotive standard.

In the end it's probably just personal preference. I got the AEM because I didn't want to mess with oily filters and I assumed the plastic tubing would lessen heat soak in summer stop and go traffic. I like the look of the K&N tubing better though. so a K&N tubing with AEM filter setup would be perfect. Or you could just get the Injens, lol, which I believe are dry.
