DRL issue with tinted windshield

If your front is tinted, what kind of workaround have you used to keep your DRL's on? Unless it's 12 noon my headlights come on.

Would it be too unsightly to cut away a small circle in the film to allow in unfiltered light, or is the glass set too far away from the sensor for a narrow opening to be effective?
