So now they say they need to take down engine to fix this and that I have to pay for there time. About 3 days...

When I got my new engine they want to put back stock pipes and I said ok, "I change them myself" and I did try but bolts was so tightened that they don´t move at all. So I talked to the shop and they say it should go, now when they tried themselves they have broke several of pin-bolts. Probably when they mounted for just 6 weeks ago they used wrong lock nuts that not is possible to take off if to hard tightened.

  • Anyone else that have this problem?
  • How should I see this from my side?
  • Any suggestions that can easing this up?
:(

Primary downpipes right? I feel for you if they broke because of those. I’ve read quite a few post about people snapping the turbo studs plus oil leaks or something after installs. Not worth it imo. I’m sure someone will chime in who has experienced the same situation.

Why are you replacing primary downpipes and who are "they"?

200 cell race C and bigger pipes. Still allowed emissions

"They" is a KIA Sales shop in Sweden...

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
How do you know they used the wrong nuts?
Why would they use the wrong nuts?

I don´t know but either that or... they have torqued a lot more so nut thread will broke when backed. All was new 6 weeks ago along the new engine and turbos so it can´t be so much else that have been wrong.

When I first change pipes last year from stock I did it myself with no problem to loose and it tock 3,5 hours for both sides. When shop now 6 weeks ago was lose´n them from old engine, no problem either (as I had torqued them last year) but now... 4 of 6 broken so what else can be than torqued like h...ll.

Ultimate Performance has told me in the case of broken studs that they have been able to get them out of there without anything too extensive such as engine removal, I doubt they were lying.

Ok, I asked them but they say that they tried everything like inducing heat but no results

Hey there quick question, I know it’s been some time now but did you ever get any feedback to this feed. I have something that’s very relevant…
