He thinks the BMW M340i is the best 3-Series, but still thinks the Stinger is better.

Nice to hear. I decided to not look at the 240i X-Drive in favor of the Stinger. I didn't want to spend another 15K for an equally optioned and seemingly lesser vehicle (smaller, both in the bad and good way).

I do agree with Doug, not just about what he says in passing on the Stinger, but also how BMW is diluting the brand by putting M badging, but it's not a true M3. The M340i has a nicer exhaust note though than the Stinger, I'll give it that. :)

The Stinger wins because it is more practical and better looking. That is true if you find a roomy hatch and rear seating room more practical. If you don't need or care about those things, then "meh".

He went on about the distinctive upper grill. The upper part is fake, which is an odd inclusion.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
^^^I did find that odd that the upper grill isn't functional. I wonder why BMW made that design decision? Wouldn't you want more air to go in?

Stinger got 8 in value because it didn't have BMW badge, or else it was 10 (as per Doug's stinger review).

I think the grill is functional, just not the top part of it.

I have left BMW as a whole long time ago I could not tolerate their bland and crappy interiors, now the new generation BMWs are catching up quality interior but still bland and shitty except for the top models above 100k almost all BMW interiors are crappy.

Not sure what your point is. But I find "It's a Kia" removing two points stupid. And why is the "Doug score" 64 in the OP video, and 67 here? What happened to the three points?

It's taken a few videos, but I am now officially annoyed by Doug.

Doug updates his scores regularly for models he’s reviewed in the past.

So why did he dock the Stinger three points?

I think he lowered points on the Features and Cool Factor categories. Presumably because it’s no longer a brand new model, and competitors keep adding features on new models. Plenty of people disagree with his scores, but that’s how he does it.

Scoring is the most annoying and silly thing about his videos (even more than his emo body language approach to reviews). It is entirely subjective. If you agree with everything he says then you'll agree with his scoring. Otherwise, complete waste of time. He's not convincing. What are you going to do, print out "Doug scores" on the models you are looking at, and buy the one with the highest "Doug score?" Go on.

I used to follow his videos, but these days, follow more savagegeese, The Straight Pipes, Matt Maran, Redline Reviews, and Engineering Explained.

I watch all of these and alex on autos, you shouldn't miss those. He was spot on with stinger rear end lift and aftermarket sway upgrade.
