The best car reviewer on Youtube imo, Doug DeMuro, just put up a video and he’s bought a Kia stinger. I was debating about my next car, between a dodge charger and the stinger just this morning at work and he posted the video. Thats all the conviction i needed to get one lol
I'm watching this video now ha ha. Welcome to the hive, Doug!
His review was one of the reasons I found the Stinger, hopefully he figures out that the car can stop itself and drive away from a stop with the SCC. He missed that in his review.
Well the video is slightly disappointing IMO. Doug is criticizing the car for not being a 2020 when he bought a 2018. Pretty lame. He's ripping on the car for all the things he was complimentary about the first time around. If you wanted all the newer features, then you should have bought a newer model. Basically the overall feel I got from it was "eww it's a Kia, but it was affordable and does all the fun things I want that the other brands wouldn't give me for this money so I bought it."

I agree. Cracks me up when he's ripping on 2018 model that he bought in 2020. For a few hundred dollars more, he could have bought a 2019/2020 if he'd done his homework.
I wasn't really paying close attention, so maybe I missed something, but the newer models (even 2020) barely have any features over the 2018 that he bought. So his complaint seems valid? Or was he specifically complaining about the lack of a 360 camera, or rear heated seats?

I have no problem with him criticizing the car, it's not perfect if it was there would be no need to make newer models, but criticize it for things that make sense. Complaining that it's a 2 year old car doesn't make sense to me. For example, I agree the HUD doesn't have enough info, when I'm driving spiritedly I really wish that it would show you at least what gear you're in. I also agree that the fuel tank is too small. As far as I know these are two things that haven't been addressed yet.

I have a 2018 so I'm not 100% sure what the newer models have, but I'm under the impression that they have the 360 camera, heated rear seats and wireless charging at least. His complaint seemed to mainly be about the 360 camera but he complained about the tech in general which I don't get considering how much tech this car has. What more does he want? Autopilot? I'm still not sure to this day he knows that the car can stop and go by itself in traffic, he never mentioned it in his initial review and in fact he knocked the car for not having any autonomous features like that. And his complaining about the screen size really made me laugh, I know for a fact he said it was a big screen back in his first review. We would all love the digital gauge cluster with the blindspot cameras, but I think the K900 was barely getting that tech back in 2018, he shouldn't expect it on the Stinger.
It's like he didn't even watch his own first review because he ripped on the car for all the things he was complimentary of the first time.
As I've said I have no problem with him criticizing the car, it's not perfect. The HUD needs a lot of updates IMO, there's not enough info in there. The gas tank really is too small.
I’m sure when he gets his hands on the 2021 Stinger GT he will “rave” over all the new tech. That turn signal camera feature from the K900 is awesome too.

They should get that feature in ALL BMWs, then maybe they'll use their turn signal because it means they don't need to turn their head to shoulder check. This for that!
