I noticed while I was getting into my car that the strange film in the door jamb was peeling because the door had caught it in the very bottom and tore it up and continues to make contact with it when it’s opening and closing. I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem. There’s no paint where the door hinges are it’s bare metal covered in some weird layer of almost like a plastic.

have you got a pic ??

Its probably the protection film the car was shipped with , I've found over a dozen pieces since taking delivery .............the prep kids are not familiar with where all the pieces are ................

I believe I'm correct on the film , just pull it off and you're good to go !

Your jambs/hinges look painted to me. Agree on the plastic film. I was still finding pieces of it in odd (sometimes right out in plain sight) places six months later. :D

If it’s the black plastic, it is the space filler they put in fender. Kia does this in a lot of their cars. Don’t touch it. Take it back to dealer to fix as it shouldn’t have been torn in first place.

I took it to the dealer, it’s the sound deadening foam in the fender, they said since it’s a lease not to worry about it but it’s very absorbing and starting to deteriorate. Could this cause the fender to rust or anything I should worry about. They told me they’d talk to Kia, is anyone else having this issue?

Thats BS , make them fix it . If its not perfect they need to make it right , if you dont get satisfaction from your dealer take to KIA USA , ypu guys have a VIP line or something like thast for Stinger owners ( lease vs buy makes no difference )

I don't have that issue, if it's bothering you, make them fix it. It shouldn't cause any problems, but you should be happy with your new car, regardless if it's a lease or not.
