@raytrix has been asking this question in a few discussions and so far everyone who's answered has a Stinger GT. We're trying to find out if the NON-GT Stinger has an auto tilt-down side mirror when the transmission is shifted into reverse. We do realize it depends on the position the left/right/center switch is in. Any input would be greatly appreciated...

Yes, the Premium does auto tilt down when in reverse. I test drove a base but cannot recall if it did also.

As usual, my Stinger is not a US model, so I cannot answer the question directly. However, for my 2.0T 'Premium' trim - the side mirrors do tilt down when I put the car in reverse.

Is the auto tilt down in reverse only a GT2 feature in the US?

My GT1 as well.

I have to flip the mirror switch to the left or right and then it will tilt down when I back up. Worked the same in my optima

Your GT1 does not fold down?

If I flip it to left the mirrors fold in when locking the car, center will not fold the mirrors at all, and right folds them in until I switch back to left it center. No position seems to tilt them down in reverse.

My GT1 does do it. However, I've noticed this morning that it's random. I know the switch has to be flipped to the left--as was the case with my Optima--but it doesn't always activate.

I actually didn't realize my car had it until I was backing into a spot yesterday and I looked in the mirrors and could only see the ground. I think Kia might have some bugs to work out with it...even though they've been using the same design for years.

You realize there are two switches, right? The one you're talking about controls the folding operation, but if you flip the other switch right or left - as if you were selecting which side mirror to adjust (as in adjusting the mirror where you can see behind you clearly) - that also controls the tilt-down in reverse feature.

I guess that's what I get for mainly driving my car at night until my old car gets given back to VW. I just went out to the car and changed to left and the mirrors tiled down.

They are tied in with the memory seats and power folding mirrors. Any Kia with both those features will have the mirrors tilt down when you reverse.

No I'm talking about the switch to adjust the mirrors. Not the one to fold them in. Sorry about that
