I would never run 87 octane in my 3.3 stinger. but my question is , does the computer add timing when you run a higher octane ?? Would there be an advantage if I were to run 100 octane no lead fuel for racing, would there be any benefit ????

The ECU has a set of parameters setup from the factory to allow the use of low octane fuel and high octane fuel (available at regular gas stations), meaning anything form 87 to 93 octane, depending on your location.
Filling your car with anything higher will have no additional performance gains and can even cause damage to the engine as the ECU does not have the parameters setup to use such high octane.
That is why, if you want to run a higher octane fuel you will need to get the ECU flashed or use one of the available piggyback chips that allows a mixture of gas and E85 to increase octane.

Hope that helps

How about some pure gas? Put some of that instead of the mix in your tank, if you can find a station selling that.

Ok WTF is PURE gas ???? And the thing about TOO much octane hurting a Stinger motor ... HOW ... I am not saying running Q16 oxygenated fuel, yes that will harm a fuel system but running a 100 Octane UNleaded , how can that hurt a motor . Detonation is the #1 cause of engine failure, what condition would higher octane create if the computer can not read such levels ???

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Your Stinger GT will be fine running Octane 87 and above, period. 100 Octane will not hurt the engine. Your engine simply will not use all the available energy during the combustion process under stock programming. You will toss unused energy, and money, out your exhaust pipes.

Just to be clear, E85, due to it's significant concentration of ethanol (over 50%), is highly corrosive to your engine. E85 is not recommended for use in the Stinger.
