Does It Make A Lot Of Sense To Have Both The Stinger And The Optima?

What do you think? Is it possible that Kia might want to replace the Optima with the Stinger? Why not? I think the Optima is getting kinda redundant now. From midsize to fullsize you have the Optima, Cadenza, K900 and now the Stinger. Does it really fit in between?

I know they're not going to replace the Cadenza because that's a fullsize car for mainly older people who are looking for a comfortable car to go on long trips with. Without spending a whole lot of money. The K900 is for people who want the best of everything but also don't want to spend what it typically takes to get that with other brands.

The Optima, which is what I drive, isn't much smaller than the Stinger and a lot of people are talking about how the Stinger looks like a grown up Optima. So what do you think?

These are apples and oranges. The Optima and Cadenza are front wheel drive. The K900 and Stinger are RWD or AWD. Many car companies will have mid and full-size sedans that come in both flavors because different people prefer different drive layouts. Someone who likes a RWD will rarely buy a FWD car and vice-versa.

Apples to oranges comparison IMO. Stinger is a balanced rear wheel drive hatchback, Optima is a FWD grocery getting four door (no offense). The Optima might have a sporty appearance on the outside, but it isn't going to hold a candle to the Stinger in terms of actual driving. Kia's Forte/Optima/Cadenza represent a line of various sized cars targeting the same general mass market buyers, but until now they had nothing similar to the Stinger for people who wanted a true performance car. Price wise, the Optima ends were the Stinger begins.

I do like the Optima so I'm glad it's sticking around. I was all set to buy a 2017 later this year until I saw the Stinger.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

I'm curious, is it just the looks you're drawn to? Or did you decide to go with a Stinger for some other reason?
