Does anyone know what could be going on?

I was driving down the highway yesterday and 30 min into my drive my 2018 AWD stinger gt2 started feeling really sluggish. It got Significantly worse in the next 30 min, and then it stopped making boost completely. The RPM's would go up, but the car wouldn't go anywhere. In sport mode, using the paddle shifters, did not help at all. No check engine lights. Fast forward to this morning, I started it up and got on the road. It still had zero boost, no acceleration, and it took about 10 seconds to hit 60mph. Then the check engine light finally came on, so I drove straight to the dealer and had them scan it while the codes were still there and got to see how slow it was. I left it with them, and all he would/could tell me was that there were 3 codes, 2 catalytic converter codes and an underboost code. I asked of he'd ever seen or heard of so.ething like this and he said no. Supposed to be getting a call later with a little more info.

Car has zero mods, I run premium gas always, only 30,000 miles, 2018, AWD, GT2.

Several causes for "limp mode" have been recited here. Which one it is, no idea. But they'll find it. At least you were smart/lucky and got in with issues that they could see/replicate. Nothing worse than having trouble, going in and getting the ubiquitous excuse: "could not duplicate problem".

I see from your comments history that you've been dealing with this for over a month at least.

It has gone into limp mode once before, but it was in the middle of the night and I turned off the car and turned it back on and the codes were gone and I hadn't had another issues until yesterday. That's why when the light came on I was super happy and took it straight to the dealer. I called them this morning trying to set up an appt to bring it in and they said it would be at least a week. After I pulled up they said they would have someone look at it by the end of the day.

Don't forget to let us all know the conclusion of the story. I'm curious about the catalytic issue.

I will definitely keep everyone posted. I spoke with one of the sales girl and she is saying she can put me in a new awd gt2 and keep all of the payments the same which caught my attention.

My guess is you had unburnt fuel dump in the cats and melted them to the point of bad exhaust flow. Interesting to see what they find.

If that's the case, what could've caused all of it? Why would unburnt fuel be able to dump in the cats?

Here's an update to my original post. Kia had the fuel sent off and after the test kit came back kia denied the warranty based off of "improper fueling" and quoted me $17,000 to fix it.

Yes, but I'm not the one to say it. If I even suspected that I had somehow caused the problem, I would lack the chutzpah to pursue such a course of action.

How many cans of maddative have you used?

Because they found additive in the fuel. Which was a fuel Injector cleaner and a can of maddative, which was added after it started acting sluggish.
Dumb....not you. I mean "why would you try and fix your own car with common fixes?" Is what im sure the dealer said. Hope you can get it pushed through. It sounds pretty sketchy on the Kia side of things. Hate it for you bud. Keep us posted on it.

Thanks brother. I'll let you know what happens next.

Fuel cleaner shouldn’t be a problem. They even encourage us to use it. Octane booster probably not, but should not be an issue.
