What do you guys think? My wife's car says she hasn't hit anything. There is not a scratch anywhere on the car. I guess someone could have backed into it, but again not a scratch the license plat is pristine. Tried pushing it back in and it pops right back out
My front clip does the same thing. I'm a one owner. I pull mine off regularly, My guess is that front clip either came off for an upgrade like intercooler, scoops or general maintenance. It's just a simple snap that can be pushed back in.
Probably not hit, as the paint is so brittle on these cars that looking at it in the wrong way would scratch it, so a hit, even a light one, 100% would damage the paint.
Had a Sonata that did this on the drivers side by the light, found that one of the plastic retaining clips had snapped on the body. I replaced it and all was good.
It's likely a plastic retaining clip as others have said.
I accidentally popped mine out on my previous Stinger after I pulled into a parking spot with one of those concrete bumper/curb things at the front of the spot.
As I was pulling in, I heard the scraping sound from the front bumper and I knew the car was too low to clear it. I backed the car up and the scraping sound was even worse!
When I got out the car to investigate, I saw the same separation that is posted in the OP's picture. Some retaining clips had broke off.
See if someone in your car made the same mistake as me, and accidentally caught the front end on some kind of curb
