Hey folks, I've got a got a 22 Canadian stinger gt2 recently and park it in my garage. The issue is I often walk past the garage for other stuff, and the side mirrors keep folding/unfolding every time I walk by with the key. It gets a bit annoying and also concerned about how long the motor would last

Is there a way to disable this welcoming mirror feature? I heard some other Kia models have an option under the Convenience settings, but I couldn’t find anything like that in mine. Appreciate any tips!

Yes, there is a toggle on the drivers door that disable the auto folding mirrors. Its in front of the mirror selection switch.

Not sure if that will stop the mirrors from auto-unfolding on unlock, actually like to keep that part. But I will give it a try, thanks!

That switch leaves them static open regardless if its locked or not. I dont think there is a proximity disable but if you dont have the fob with you they wont unfold, or if its not locked.

Or you could just use a faraday cage pouch. That is if you need to have the fob in your pocket.

The Remote Switch On Door Handle Enables / Disable Folding. When In "AUTO" They Fold & Unfold.

Alright, so I guess the conclusion here is there's no way to disable just the "welcoming mirror" part without giving up the auto fold/unfold on lock/unlock. Kind of a bummer but at least now I know

This can be disabled in the settings menu, least its there in my UK 2021.

Vehicle settings -> Light -> Welcome mirror/light - > Untick "On driver approach"

is your garage attached to your house? I would just leave the car unlocked then. no folding mirror issues then.
