So , tuesday i schedualed an oil change at 56000 miles. I also put in that i need the transmission and differentials fluid changed too.
Apointment for Saturday! (Yesterday)
I always put that i will wait for my car and as usual they say no worries. But .
Saturday rolls in its 835 time to leave
901 i arrive right on time bassicly.
Now i have a service person who is loud and talking about how we are to swamped someone help this guy.
Now i have a different service person lol
He tells me about my service and how much it should cost ($549) and i agree to the terms. Then he starts asking and looking for a ride for me from lyft. I am not a fan of lift and ask how long it looks to be.
The man says (he was a great employee not his fault) anyway he said itll be till 2 or 3pm till the work is done.
No word on why they told me i could wait for the car but oh well.
I decline a lyft 35 minutes north to get home and draft the parents for a ride. The ride home was long because traffic but thats besides the point.
Im home for about 2 hrs and i get a notification that my car is done and they did not have enough fluid in stock to complete my work.
So now its 1145 when i planned on a ride back around 230. They (a normal dearlership) do not have at least 10 quarts tranny fluid available and are not willing to find more at a neighbouring dealer or a local retailer.
I accept my fate that they failed but now i still need to wait for a ride back.
Hours later my wife is available and we recover the car.
248 bucks and the service woman i never met from earlier exclaims 'we used that synthetic you know it costs more right!?' Followed with a joking 'cant belive we didnt have oil'
And kicker is that they will not reschedule my transmission service, i was adviced to call back next week and make a new apointment for the trans...
Overall service from people at location - 7-10
Overall service from their master tech - 9-10
(The car smelled of gear oil but that was the service so what could i expect)
Overall preparedness of a big kia dealer - 2-10
How can you let a store room contain less that 10 quarts of any fluid baffles me.
Regardless they are my home dealer so they will continue to get my money as long as my warranty remains intact.
