Defrost and center vents at the same time? auto switch recirc/fresh?

Is it possible to get air blowing out of the top (defrost) and face level vents at the same time? I see the option for floor & defrost, but not face level.

Also, reading that it's not recommended to keep recirc on for extended periods. Any auto ways to get it to switch to fresh intake periodically.

Got some long trips coming up where we'll be in the car for a few hours at a stretch. Remembering to switch manually will be challenging.

Pretty sure my 22 GT1 includes the automatic defog and/or smart ventilation system which automatically changes to fresh air after a period of time. Pretty sure there's something in the owners manual about it. Also I believe there's a way to disable it in the settings as I knew someone who disabled it in their 2022 GT2 and their windshield fogged up all the damn time. They couldn't comprehend why leaving recirc on would cause the windshield to fog.

Smart ventilation is also on my 2018!

No way to run defrost+face vents at the same time, never had a car that could.

Popping the sunroof will automatically change from recirc to fresh air, and put it back when it goes back down.

I dont know how people drive with recirc anyway, unless you're stuck in traffic behind a septic truck.

^^I think you're right. I pulled up the manual for the old G, and it didn't have a defrost/level vent option, only defrost/foot. I suppose face/foot vents need some readjusting so not blowing directly to my eyes.

Edit: No sunroof in my car. Actually didn't mind lacking this option. One less thing to break in the future.

When it's 100F outside, recirc does keep the temps cooler.
