Hi,

I noticed there is a deep scratch on the interior of my front windshield. Spoke to a windshield guy today and he said it would need to be replaced.

However, given the circumstances, I suspect this may be a valid warranty claim at the dealership. I have an appointment tomorrow but wanted some input.

Information:

1. Scratch can only be felt from the inside. Therefore, unlikely there was an exterior impact (collision, rock chip, etc.).
2. Behind rear view mirror. From where I sit, not always visible. Also, difficult to imagine I (the sole driver and usually sole occupant) would be able to scratch it myself given the location of it.

Given these circumstances and the fact the car is only a few months old, I may have a case here. See attached images.

Curious what others think!

Wow, it really looks like a crack. If it does not get bigger, and it does not bother you, I would leave it. I would not trust those monkeys in the garage to replace it correctly. If they sub it out to a legit windshield company that only does windshields, then that might be ok.

I’d either leave it or see if a windshield company could fill it with glass epoxy. I feel like that’s something that could be doable.

Well the guy said it had to be replaced. I’ll see what the dealer says.

Dealership wasted my time. Explained the situation over the phone and told me I could come in. Moment I get there they say they cannot help me.

I totally understand most dealerships don’t do their own glass work. But why would their website have that as an option on their service page? At the very least the person on the phone who confirmed my appointment could have told me that this was most likely not going to be covered etc. etc.

Pretty annoying. More upset on having no idea how this happened.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I’d leave it. The chance of something else getting screwed up > the annoyance of the scratch IMO.
