Hi all!
Just had my front and rear bumpers repainted at the dealer. Dropped the car off on Wed morning and picked it up Sat morning.
Today (Sun) I had to drive 500km and on the way killed about one thousand bugs. All of them are still on my front bumper.
Everything I can find online says to not wash or wax the car after a paint job. But is it better to leave dead bugs on it?
Please advise. I know nothing about paint, except damaging it, apparently.
Thank you!

Depending on the paint work...
Some are safe after 2-3weeks, some longer.

In any case buy a good quality bug remover...
Eg:

CARPRO BUG OUT

GYEON Q²M BUG & GRIME

Works great on dried, crusty bugs and guts.

I wouldn’t think leaving dead bugs on the car after a fresh paint job is a good idea

On freshly painted surface, I would use a large (beach) towel sopping wet in soft water (distilled water) and just gently soak their carcasses off, no rubbing, and leave it at that until you're confident that the paint has dried long enough to use any cleaners. I for sure would not leave them on there.

I would wash it "as normal"

If the body shop was comfortable giving it to you with no additional warnings, they surely cured the paint before giving it to you.

To each their own

Leaving dead bugs on the paint can etch the paint, so I would remove then ASAP. Just be gentle when doing it, as some have suggested above.

Big thanks to everyone! I did a gentle wash at a self service station and used a bug cleaning spray. It looks nice! But, tomorrow I'll have to drive another 1k km so need to go through the same process again. Not complaining :)
When it's ready, I'm thinking to do a full polish and a ceramic coating.

Highly recommend getting it coated, makes keeping it clean, and cleaning it so much easier.... wait at least a month on new paint before polishing however

I had my entire front end (hood, quarter panels, front fascia, and A Pillars) covered with PPF. The remainder of the car is a ceramic coat. The entire car was paint corrected prior to that, removing any and all swirls in the factory clear coat. Really helps making clean up a breeze. Leaving bugs of the paint will eventually scar the paint and the acid in larger bugs wont be a pretty result. With the car coated completely I use a leaf blower to get the water off after a wash. Use micro fiber towels after that for what little water remains. It’s not cheap but if you want your paint to last it’s worth it.
