I'm sorry, I have tried searching but I am seeing conflicting answers. I am getting a Cylinder 3 misfire on my GT1. Dealership did nothing about but hold my car for 32 hours, to say the car is driving normal and no misfires. I was misfiring again within 1000 feet of leaving the place, so I'm going to check it myself. I see a few posts saying cylinder 3 is located in the passenger back by the firewall, then I see it is the pain in the ass one under the intake manifold. The kia parts guy told me he thinks it's that one as well but wasn't sure. Would someone be able to point me in the right direction?

From what I heard, all the odd numbers are passenger side and all even are driver side going up in order. So yes cylinder 3 would be the one under the manifold.

Something like this (imagine you're looking at the engine and coils)

5 6
3 4
1 2

I'll be honest, the kia dealer is always so useless when it comes to the stinger. Ask them any questions and they shrug or give you a "i think" answer. Better off searching your question in google with "stinger forum" at the end of it or posting a thread.

Best of luck!

What code are you getting?

3 is passenger side rear, its not that bad.

It's P303 (Cylinder 3 misfire). Back to confused as there is 1 for under the manifold and one in the rear. I am really hoping it is the rear so I can easily swap the front and rear coils to see if the misfire moves.

I think cLaw is correct. Number 3 is the one under the manifold. The back one on the passenger side is #5

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Im pretty sure its the one under the manifold, I did my own plugs and if you're just removing the coil its really not the worst thing. Still have to fit a wrench down there to unscrew it though :/

Just a tip I'd pull the ign3 coil out towards the car/passenger seat and insert it through that same gap/hole. It took me some time but thats what worked for me.

Okay I just found this on my computer from when I thought I would need it a long time ago, unfortunately we are just as helpful as the service techs at kia in the fact that nothing is said with confidence but here you go.

This is from a user that I dont remember, but since he took the time to draw this I trusted it. My mechanic that I go to also referred to the first cylinder on the right as cylinder 2 so that kind of confirmed it for me.

Ok, so seems like I will try switching the one under the manifold with probably 1, since it seems the easiest of 1 or 5. Thank you everyone!
