Hey Everyone,

I bought a used 22 GT2 AWD recently, and over the last week or so the center console has become pretty creaky. If you lightly press on the area between the shifter and cup holders, it creaks and cracks, and it’s doing the same now over bumps and when cornering even.

I don’t have any sunroof or door rattles, and the car generally is pretty quiet (rare I know), but this center console thing is bugging me somewhat and I only see it getting worse. Local dealer is mediocre so I question their willingness/ability to get it fixed. Anyone deal with this in the past? If so, any successful fixes? Curious to hear peoples thoughts.

Might not be all the way in. It is held by a bunch of clips. Give it a good push down at all the corners and around the shifter.

I know from reading that a number of owners have removed the center console themselves to work on mods, or even replaced with CF and so forth: they've had them apart and put back together.

Lol, I'm putting this together, and Snow White says it first: make sure everything is fastened back together all the way.

I tried that suggestion tonight and it didn’t seem to work. I’ll check it tomorrow but it’s still creaky. I guess I’ll let the dealer know. I’ve got a window motor getting replaced next week so I’ll see if they can do that too.

I had exactly the same problem, dealer pulled console apart and no better. That was two years ago and I rectified it by spraying silicon spray on both sides of the console in the join between the top and the base.Have never had it creak again for the past two years
