Consumer Reports rating is out

I have seen another review on YouTube complaining about difficult ingress/egress due to being low. I intend in stopping by the nearest Kia dealership and see how bad it is. Our BMW 535i is perfect in this respect. Our previous car was a BMW 328i that was lower, resulting is not quite as easy in and out. If you use your car just to go to work and return at the end of day this is not a big deal. We are both retired and older than the Pope. We make several stops around town and this makes it more difficult to live with the car.
CU has been complaining about BMW iDrive ever since it came out. They say it's difficult to use. It took me about 10 minutes to figure it out and now I'm having second thoughts about going with a Stinger because of the lack of iDrive. You have to reach and touch the screen. But, in the Stinger case I down't think it will be such a. big deal. I noticed in the photos the Stinger has plenty of knobs for most functions and that will do just great!
I have a Mazda6, which has an "iDrive" like solution also. I never touch the screen. Stinger will be a shock in having to do so. A few reviews have said it's a stretch but not a huge deal... I figure 90% of the time I'll be using CarPlay anyway, and just tell Siri to play xyz, read my texts, or emails, etc... Again, not a deal killer, but would be nice if they add in an iDrive-like solution in the 2020's...

What I am hearing is... "this car is so good that the only thing wrong with it is the shifter on the very top end model, and if your huge, the backseat isn't great. As far as the handling goes, according to @Weareblondi s proportions, they must have had giants in the back seat, and were probably overcapacity weight-wise, and that would also account for the 7.5 sec 0-60 time. ;)

thats why i dont put much faith in consumer reports anymore.

I think CR is fair, but their emphasis seems to be on dollar value (best bang for the buck) and they always tend to dismiss upper level products as being more expensive than they are worth. They cater to the budget-conscious, not the connoisseur. And as I have said elsewhere, they aren't car people.
