My 2012 Genesis 3.8 was my all-time favorite car........until I got my new Stinger!

The Genesis Sport is no slouch but I think it's not getting much attention due to it being the same styling as the older Hyundai Genesis plus teh bump in price didn't help. Personally, I feel if they topped it out at $52K on this body style, then did like Volvo and stepped up the luxury, technology with an excitingly styled body, while keeping it under $60K with a V8, it would make a splash. The Stinger I feel is priced too high and with dealers jacking up the price, it's slowing the pace of adoption. The lease deals needs to be better as well to get more folks into it.

I am happy to see this but I don't understand well this sudden fact. Genesis sales fell significantly last year and I don't understand how they can make it #1 without good sales numbers. At some point shouldn't it apply some weight to their survey numbers?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

How dare you use justifiable logic;) I would state it's partly based on branding yet Genesis is at top and I assume most Americans, outside of car fanatics, have no idea what Genesis is as a brand... So yeah I agree with you on including information like sales....

I have never put much faith into CR for car reviews, only for their reliability rankings. The reviews are done by staff with opinions while the reliability is based on consumers with facts, like JD Power reliability surveys. IMHO I think CR reviewers are some of the worst as their opinions just don't make sense sometimes and their 0-60 times are always higher than anyone else.

Don't get me wrong, I am not hating on Hyundai or Genesis. Just the CR list and the order of the list itself, especially Lexus but maybe because I just don't like them:)

Hyundai's Genesis topped the annual ranking of new vehicle brands by influential U.S. magazine Consumer Reports, while General Motors' electric Chevrolet Bolt was named top pick for compact green car.

Millions of prospective auto buyers consult the magazine's rankings, which are based on road testing, reliability, safety and owner satisfaction scores.

The top 10 brand rankings (for the whole list, check out CR's website):

1. Genesis
2. Audi
3. BMW
4. Lexus
5. Porsche
6. Kia
7. Subaru
8. Tesla
9. Honda
10. Toyota
