Concerns - Popping/Creaking Noise from Sunroof

Ok so dis it today.
Redid all fixes from here. I found out that the sound was there even without glass panel on. I removed it completely.

So I started playing around and found out what was causing the cracking sound.
It's this plastic part.
Put some screws between that and the metal part below it. Put some loctite blue on it and placed 5mm foam on top of that.

This is now fixed.
See pics of the cracking sound part.

I had to reference the shop manual but the part below what @Fecker is pointing at is called the roller cover. I’ve attached the PDF for the roller blind (shade) repair for those who may want to see.

I only have one more picture as I wasn't doing any after that. Basically you just need to wedge something between the plastic and metal part below it. I used 4.5mm screws and 6mm when gap was wider1000016638.webp

Got to say thanks for this!

I've done all of the other sunroof noise fixes which helped a lot, after which I had no noise when the roof was shut or fully open but in the tilt position it would still rattle like crazy. Now I've wedged some foam tape in that spot under your finger it's completely sorted.

Still get a vibration rattle above my head now and again but I suspect that's something in the headliner, a push in the right place makes it go away for a while but it always returns eventually. A problem for another day.

I've had stuck in tilted position twice, so I was on my 3rd set of rails. Very noisy in tilted position 1y after install. Dealer noted excessive wear on the rails (not sure how?!). They ordered another rail kit (81650J5000) and finally it's perfect, it's never been so quiet. If anyone in Ontario has sunroof problems and is still under warranty, go to Woodstock, they have lots of practice now.

I really do wish we could just install a sunroof delete kit to seal it off.

I've owned multiple cars with sunroofs over the last 20+ years . . . and only used the sunroof maybe 5 times total.

I feel like we need to find a company that makes the delete kits for other cars, and have them make one here.
