Cold air intake dyno runs

Seems the velossa snorkle and k&n drop ins would work well if you don't want intake sound. But for the $200 you can a less expensive intake and get better results.
Could do a diy snorkle mod for free. The stock snorkle comes off and you need a hole in the radiator shroud if you want any possitive air flow.
Diy snorkle and diy intake for $100.
First is diy second is JT scoops.

I wonder how much change to sound that would make removing the stock snorkel. I would not mind a small change in sound. I was thinking of trying removing the oem snorkel and the shroud and see how that is. I don’t want to start cutting holes....

I dont think sound would change much at all. And you can just take the entire shroud off as most do with the vellosa.

Do you think removing that stuff would that stuff would give any kind of improvement with cutting down the bottle neck of oem intake?

I do. The stock snorkle is a corkscrew path and if you also removed the radiator shroud you would get pressurized positive air flow into the air box at speed. Same idea as velossa but they get more pressure with the bigger opening that tapers down.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Cool maybe I’ll do that today, do u think it could be done with a small 10mm wrench? I don’t have a ratchet set with me.

Thanks

Not sure with a wrench. Better wait for a socket since you need to pull the front end off. Front isnt hard but need to be careful not to bump something and scratch the paint. Also I've never removed the shroud just cut it up.

I’ll probably put the DIY intakes back on.
