Here is the response I got:

Hello,

Unfortunately, we have no plans to provide an Accessport that will work on your vehicle, sorry for the bad news! We would love to provide support for every vehicle around the world, but we just don't have the time or resources. I'm sorry we couldn't help you out, but if you have any other questions, please let me know!

Thanks!

Looks like we need more people to start bugging them.

ECU tuning.... I think. Cobb is very big in the WRX, Mazdaspeed, Ford turbo community.

I don't think our market is big enough for them. There's a pretty small amount of Stinger owners in the U.S. An even smaller number of those are interested in modding their vehicles. A still smaller amount are willing to change plugs to reliably mod their factory tune.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Yeah Cobb isn’t going to touch this platform anytime soon, if ever. They have a much stronger presence in other markets and have no need to dip into this market.

That’s like asking APR or GIAC to build a tune for us. It’s just not what they do.

That may be, but the owners of this car in general have the disposable income to spend on mods/tunes. In addition, this is a global vehicle and is gaining traction in places like Australia etc. If enough people bug them, maybe they will change their minds. That is about all we can do.

APR was my preferred tuner when all I drove was from VAG group.

Same, I’d drop $1k+ on a APR ECU and TCU tune right now if it was available.

Same! Although I did have GIAC as well on my A4 which was a little more aggressive than APR and it was great. I had APR on my GTI's and loved it

Nothing against LAP3 but I always got a sketch(super secret sauce) vibe from them when I had my Optimas that made me hesitant to try the uncle chip. ARP + even provides a limited powertrain warranty that offers coverage through the duration of your original limited factory powertrain warranty. We need a big name player to take a chance.

Is there a big name player in the KDM tuning world?

Unfortunately that was the answer received earlier last year :(

Seoulful Racing (SFR) and BTR (Blood Type Racing, Inc) are two that I know of. As much HP as their tunes pull out of NA engines like the Genesis 3.8 AND the H-K 4 banger theta, I'm surprised they haven't jumped on the Stinger yet.

Maybe they need a donor/research car.....

BTR is local to me and they are working on it, but no eta or any info that they are willing to share yet.

Nice. Their tunes run 850 and come on a spare ECU. Hopefully they'll keep that price the same for the Stinger.

Lap3 said their ecu tune will come on a spare ECU and will be about the same price as the pro tuner, so I’d guess $1300-$1500. No ETA. But yeah, wish we had more options.

The issue is that there are virtually no Stinger sales. Few companies are going to invest resources tuning a sport sedan that isn't selling.

News - Sales Data - Sales Data - Kia Motors America Newsroom

The question is why. Audi isn't having any trouble moving A7/S7/RS7 vehicles even though they look like the Stinger and have similar features. Kia is either going to have to significantly cut the price, significantly increase "content", or offer a more competitive drive train....or some combination of those items. For what it's worth, the G70 isn't really flying off the lots either. Sales are in the hundreds. Kia/Hyundai needs to address the "why" and the market will show up with options if there are enough units out there to make it worth their while.

Best,
