My car has developed a noticeable clunk in the back left rear area when turning sharp left or right turns at low speed (like from my apartment building area to the main street) and then accelerating, the clunk depends on the strength of acceleration but even very modest acceleration generates a noticeable clunk.
The clunk is always in the same area (rear left) no matter which way I turn, local Kia dealer thought it might be a gearbox clunk when changing gears from 1st gear to 2nd gear but that is not the case as the clunk is also there when the car is in manual mode, then the strength of the clunk depends on which car the gear is in. 1st gear in same speed is noticeably stronger clunk when turning than the same speed in 2nd gear. Additionally the strength of the clunk also depends on the turning radius, the sharper the turn the bigger the hit, almost feels like someone hitting me in the bum with a leg. More often than not the clunk is followed by a stuttery feeling aswell.

Has anyone developed an issue like that? In the past few months I have learned that my local Kia is very inadequate when it comes to dealing with things. Could this be something related to the MY18 LSD cars having a differential oil TSB? Or does this perhaps sound as mechanical damage?

/ My car is the european MY18 3.3 GT so the US version of it is the GT2 AWD

Sounds like the LSD diff if the noise is worse when turning tighter corners as you state.
Get the dealer to change the oil as per TSB & ask them to get an oil analysis on the old oil to ensure there is not excessive “metal/foreign matter” in it, that should tell them their could be a potential issue or not.

Cowboy. :P

LSD is the first thing I thought of, because of discussions of LSDs going south; but those were at least a year ago.

Its not even that much of a noise (there is an extra level of noise) but rather the feeling like someone is hitting me in the bum with a leg, a strong clunk in the car followed by a stuttery feeling
