I’m scheduled for this coming Tuesday for a Clear Bra install. I’m covering the nose, full hood and both mirrors. My GT2 has the black chrome caps. I’ve noticed they need a lot of maintainence. They get this spider web of feh on them periodically and need to be polished for them to look good again.

My concern is if they’re covered in the clear wrap will the webbing stop happening or will it happen under the wrap and won’t easily be polished or will it just not happen as it’s being protected from the elements that cause the issue.

Has anyone done this and knows how they react? I’m considering leaving them exposed so I can just maintain them, maybe use those funds and some more and do the fenders. The caps are easier to replace if needed.

Hi joseph, i seen people doing some good clear bras. Jut not sure about the rest you want covered. Man you that money, to get it done.........Do that!!!!

Just had mine done today. It took over 3 1/2 hours of steady work to do 24" hood and fenders, full bumper including black chrome, door handle wells and mirror caps. That front bumper kit has lots and lots of little pieces to apply, and the installer really took the time to make sure everything was applied perfectly.

Very pleased with the results, and from what I've seen and read about the latest Xpel films I believe doing the mirror caps was money well spent. The film is very clear with no dullness or texture at all, and apparently 'self healing' when abraded - you've really go to look close to see the film edges, to even realize its on there.

Thanks. I’m looking forward to it. I talked with a member of another forum and they had theirs done on day one and never saw the webbing on the mirrors. I think that means the CB protects against that. That will make me feel better.

I've had my clear bra on the mirrors for about a month now and easily cleaned now. Nothing happening between them and the bra, so far, so good.

They’re the black chrome? You know what I’m talking about when I say the “spider web” markings? If so, wonderful and thank you!

Yes, the black chrome... I'm not sure about the spider web markings, but all I can tell you is that they look like brand new still

I have Suntek ultra ppf on my full front and mirrors. No issues at all. Got it done about 2 weeks after getting the car. I have 7500 miles and not a visible scratch on the ppf as it self heals. I’d buy it again in a heartbeat.

Just don’t get the cheap clear bra stuff like they put on at the dealer. It looks awful in no time. I highly recommend one that self heals.

Clear Bra is the trademark name from Xpel. Investigate.

It’s also used as a generic term. I am trying to give you advice. You’re welcome...
Like Kleenex for tissues. I get it. Thank you. I’m getting the Xpel product.

You mind if I ask, what was the cost?
