I was surprised to read that page 7-90 of the 2022 Stinger owner's manual has the quote of "Sufficient use of a leather protective may prevent abrasion of the cover and helps maintain the cover".

It's been my understanding that most car leather is coated and leather protectants/moisturizers don't work.

Comments from people with experience in this area would be appreciated. Don

^^^Don amuses you?

I've read about the Stinger's leather being coated too. Don't know if it's true or not, still. What I do is vacuum the seats and wipe them down with a dampened terrycloth towel. Keeping the car out of the sun as much as practical: and keeping the interior from heating up by closing the sun screen in the sunroof and putting a windshield screen up and lowering the windows less than an inch is routine when I leave the car. If the leather gets wet, dry it off pronto: I would even use a hair dryer if the spill was bad enough (after getting everything up that's possible with a towel). Of course, if the leather isn't coated with a factory applied protection, or this wears off over time, then it seems like a smart thing to look into leather treatment products. And I have no depth of experience there. Probably, since I like their paint products, I would try a Meguiar's product first. They're all going to be basically the same thing, whatever top brand you go with.

Thanks, I do what you do regarding the leather. The car is always garaged and I use a windshield sun screen. Will be getting ceramic window tinting shortly.

As for paint products, perhaps you might want to try Turtle Wax's Hybrid Ceramic spray wax. It really does produce a superior finish on the paint and is easy on, easy off. I've been using Meguiar's Ultimate wax for years. I think the Turtle Wax is decidedly superior.

Well, Merlin, you deserve an atta boy. While I never thought I was brushing the switch that opens the gas cap cover, I've been very careful since then with no episodes. Now with shorts weather, inadvertent openings should also be much less likely. Thanks, Don
