Happened to turn at the same time as a CL600 AMG on the way to somewhere. The dude obliged and let me play like I was fast before walking away.

FYI strap on your flamesuit, going fast with family/kids in the car won't get you any love on here.

Ok preface: It was to the speed limit (60) on a 2 lane private road (that the CL600 AMG guy and I own) with no one but cows within miles.

Were you wearing a helmet and knee pads, though?

Ya he has the renntech R3 package on his which puts him at about 650hp/800ftlb and fixes the open diff problem. I lose every time we happen to meet out of the driveway.

Actually yes minus the knee pads. His is always next to him as a side effect of kid kart racing.

My rs3 will be here in July. Been in order for 7 months. This car just doesn’t get my jollies off near enough

Well, when he bought it new I think he paid over 100k for it, not to mention the renntech package alone is like 15k+. The AMG badge he stuck on it was a junkyard find. I will stick with my stinger that looks better and costs way less initially and in the long run to maintain.

I agree with you, i was in no way bashing you or your car brotha. I just want to go faster. And am impatient and rather displeased with the lethargic behavior of our torque converter AT. The stinger is a wonderful car, it just doesn’t GO if you know what I mean.

This is an interesting topic though now that I think about it. What would the forum think of the fact that my kid started hunting at 5, can operate a bolt action rifle, a sub-compact 9mm, and a 410, and carries a Mossback Bird and Trout everywhere he goes? He also occasionally drives the truck down said private road and into the driveway. In addition, he has been push mowing the grass under the trampoline since he was 5.

There are a lot of things my Dad and I did that would probably be illegal now(riding on the gas tank of kx250 through fields being one of them) primarily because this world is full of risk averse helicopter parents. Just going to leave this right here:

I know, I was just responding with my why's. Not everyone on the forum gets all butt hurt in every discussion even though it may seem that way at times.

Meh. My kids have been cleaning and shooting my 1911s, AKs, and ARs since they were 6. My oldest did his first Mozambique Drill before he turned 10. I used to live in the country and had a lot of land though. Don't get out much anymore and they've grown bored with my "training."

I've only gone hunting with one of them. It was almost dark and I put a 220 gr 30-06 in the gut of a buck. After spending the night trampling through the woods, following a trail of intestines, and finding NOTHING (until the next morning) he quit going out with me.

Sweet! I came from an S3 and just wanted something more comfortable with more tech. It was either the S5 or the Stinger...
I'm fine with the Stinger's power but I sure wish it would handle better (not that the MQB chassis is much better to begin with...) but I guess that's what I have my Ducati for ;)

Ya situationally that is completely on a different level. I would caution that guy too. Spirited acceleration on a private road to 60 is safer in my opinion than the on ramp to I10 and we do that every single day to the peril of my entire family.

I'm sure the RS3 performs great but man, it's so boring looking. Using the paddle shifters takes out all the gear selection lag, it shifts plenty quick for me personally.

I thought all AMGs only had two numbers in their names.. I learneded something.

It was a joke on my part. He put an AMG badge on his CL600 he found at the local junk yard.
