Would anyone with the CK71 DRL's be willing to post a pic of just those turned on at night, without the headlights? I want to see how much light output they provide, as I am hoping they will serve as functional fog lights.

With that being said, anyone know if they're a good price anywhere, if they turn out to serve my intended purpose?

unfortunately if you want fog lights from the driver's perspective, they are not usable as fog lights, since fog lights are great at illuminating the sides. CK71 is designed to diffuse the light in all directions, so they are not disturbing for other drivers. It is more of a marker light (DRL hence the name suggests) and provides a lot more presence and visibility from outside for other drivers, especially for turn signals and of course foggy conditions. They are very bright but the bright area is not visible from drivers seat. I do notice some extra light addition to the sides though, from where I sit; not functional but just enough to know they are working : ) And my favorite is turn signals, making all the reflective road signs shining.

Awesome, thank you for this! Def would not have been happy spending $400+ on these, hoping they would.

Actually I think you would've been very happy with these DRL's. They're great quality, they look awesome, they have the best warranty anywhere and I don't know too many products where if you have an issue installing you can call the guy who made them and he'll help you right then and there. I love these lights and they really do look great on the Stinger. You wouldn't be disappointed. Have a great day!

Just to piggyback off this thread is there a way to run these as DRLs but also be able to turn them off while the engine is running? If you turn off the headlights off do they turn off too?

I suppose you could but you'd probably have to wire them separately with their own switch. I'm not an electrical guy but that seems to me to be about the only way.

Well, to me, spending that kind of money just for looks wouldn't be worth it. I solely wanted them for additional light output- serving as true fog lights. They seem like they are indeed made very well and do look good, just not how I want to spend my money for something cosmetic.

They're not just for looks, they're functional daytime running lights that happen to look great. They're also signal lights and four way flashers which gives you much greater visibility to others when you're turning or using your hazards. The whole purpose of DRL's as a safety feature was to make your vehicle more visible during the day so having the CK71's on your Stinger is a great safety improvement too. I get it though, you just want fog lights. There are other options for lights that you can check out on the K8 Stinger Store if you haven't looked already. Good luck in your search!

This…I installed my CK71 DRLs after a year of owning my stinger. During that first year I had many people pull out in front of me, drift into my lane and just not seem to notice me. I realized it’s because the ceramic silver color blends in with the pavement so much even with the OEM headlight DRLs On.
Once I installed the CK71 DRLs this occurrence rarely happened. I also like the way they look too.

I have a 2019 GT1 and wired them with help from this forum (multiple threads) to come on with the Headlight DRLs. The wiring is different between GT/GT1 and GT2 and I installed them so long ago that I don’t remember the wire colors.

In position 1 everything is off, position 2 in sunlight only the headlight DRLs are on, at night both are on, position 3 headlight DRLs and CK71 DRLs are on and position 4 headlights are on and CK71 DRLs are on.6BD462DB-EA05-41B7-84D8-68D2D8E51013.webp
