what's everyone's opinion on getting Ceramic Coat paint protection?

Other than being expensive, do you think it's worth the investment and which product would you go for?

I'm considering Opti-Coat Pro+

I have ceramic pro 9h plus ceramic pro light and love it. I can clean the car with waterless wash in about 10-15 minutes and it literally cleans itself (other than dust). I’ve had bug guts literally fall off the car. I got it because I don’t intend to get rid of my Stinger... ever. So I wanted the paint to look good and be protected from the elements. However, if I was leading the car or didn’t intend to keep it for more than a few years, I am not sure it’s totally worth it. But you’ll probably get more at trade in since the car will likely look better than new.

I don't have any recommendations. I will get mine from Dave's Body Shop, if/when I decide to cover the rest of the car. They put on PPF clear back to the windshield. My only concern is a difference in appearance manifesting over time, requiring either an entire PPF (after first restoring the exposed paint to look like the PPFed frontal area), or a ceramic coat to match (and maintain) the PPF appearance. I would of course be weighing relative expense tradeoff issues. I'm thinking (planning ahead) that ceramic coat would be the more economically sound way to achieve good paint protection for the rest of the car: my limited knowledge of the stuff says that it is tough and holds up well and can be renewed as needed.

I have my full front covered by Suntek Ultra and everything ceramic coated including the Suntek Ultra. Even without the coating, you couldn’t tell the car had anything on the front. If you have a quality PPF (Suntek Ultra self heals and has a 10 year warranty against fading) you’ll be good!

This is the exact same setup I'm looking at, different ceramic product though.
Thanks for the feedback

The PPF self healing is amazing. 8k miles and I have no scratches on the front end and I live in Phoenix where rocks are EVERYWHERE. Highly recommend a very good PPF.

I'm getting Opticoat Pro plus next week. I've never done it before but after some research I decided to go with this as a highly rated local detailer suggested. He had a Corvette c7 z06 and a 911 in the shop when I visited so I'm sure it's good enough for my Kia!

Goodbrand : I did mine myself for less than $50. Feel free to check out the pics from my profile page if you care to. There is plenty of information on ceramic nano technology coating on the Internet and youtube. My personal opinion, absolutely worth it. If your car is new, now is the time to make this happen as this process will seal in any inperfections. db

I asked if the PPF is the ten year guarantee 3M stuff, and Dave's Body Shop said yes it is.

I didn't know of the "self healing" aspect till just now reading about it here. I went outside just now, to look at that spot on the back edge of my hood, where the well-meaning maroon yanked my windshield wiper up and dragged it into that spot. Right after it happened, I had a ragged edge on my PPF. Now it is almost invisible. It seems to have "settled down". Hmm!

3M has a 5 year warranty so you have xpel or Suntek. Both are great and both are better than 3M.
