Out of no where CEL comes on, car goes into limp mode. If I shut the car off then back on it goes away, and everything is normal.

Happens every once in a while. 22 GT2

doesn't matter if i have the JB4 connected or not

happens usually 1-2 miles from startup

no hard acceleration at all. just normal cruising

tried to scan with the JB4 as well as a normal OBDII scan tool while the CEL is on, and always shows no codes

Perhaps the infamous 22+ overboost condition. If it happens enough times in a row, it is supposed to set a code.
Supposedly it is worse in cold weather.

I've had that before, but that's while pushing the car. It doesn't go into a limp mode, it just keeps the wastegate fully open, and you have no boost.

This happen under almost no load, so i don;t even think there is a more than 1-2lbs of boost happening, and the car is useless. it shakes, can't shift, and almost stalls

This sounds EXACTLY like something I've had 5-7 times until I figured out what it was. For me, it happens when I switch drive modes (i.e. from startup ECO to Sport / Custom) WHILE in reverse, such as backing out of a parking spot. Roll a little in R (let off throttle) to finish backing out, switch modes, shift to D, and within 10-30 seconds, the TRANS light comes on, and I can barely go 2 mph to get out harm's way.

The solution I found: do not ever switch drive modes while in Reverse, and it's never happened since.

Something about the sequence trips things up and it goes into severe limp mode. Way worse than when I blew off the IC hose (my fault) on the track - there I still had like half power. This is like 3% power.

Edit: I should mention, every time it's happened, it has been a warm start. But, then, I always back in to pull out forwards from my driveway, so there's rarely a chance for this to happen on a cold start.

^^^that's amazing. five years of stinger driving and I never once chose drive mode 'in reverse' or even had the possibility occur to me. no, Ima not trying this to see what happens!

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
never thought about it being from changing the drive mode. I do change it when i start my morning drive to smart mode, and it's usually done when i'm pulling out of my driveway in reverse, but the cel doesn't happen until i'm already 1-2 miles into my drive

Hmm. I've usually had it happen within 500 feet, but yeah, it's always been from changing drive mode in reverse.

Switch drive mode BEFORE going into reverse, or wait 5-10 seconds after shifting back into D.
