Carplay GPS Incorrect

I've tried with both my wife's iPhone and my dad's as well as my own. The phone is ruled out - the fact that calling roadside services yielded the Arkansas Lat/Long coordinates as well as me doing that whole Park Minder thing in UVO also shows that my Stinger is parked in Arkansas. What eflyguy said makes the most sense that the GPS is stuck.

The other thing though that I noticed today was that my Sirius XM connection says "Antenna Disconnected". I think that connection is the shark fin up top on the roof. If that is also the GPS receiver (makes sense, Sirius is satellite radio), and the fin is basically dead, then I think we found the culprit.

If the antenna is disconnected that's DEFINITELY the problem. How in the hell did the dealership miss that? Did you buy your car used?

Yep. And admittedly SXM/GPS was not something I was actively looking to see was functional during my test drive. It was also from a wholesale lot, not an actual Kia dealer. I'll be more thorough next time but after driving this car for a few days I dont think "next time" is anytime soon!

I can't imagine what anyone could have done to break the antenna connection, and it appears it worked at some point because it picked up the location in AR.

It's not like dealers are popping off headliners as part of inspection or vehicle turnover. that said, I wonder if it had a wrap or something, and someone removed the fin to pull it off.

Very intriguing..

Well it's all fixed, turns out it was a disconnected wire in the headliner. Dealer made it seem like it was a quick fix.. So I don't think it was up near the shark fin. Sirius, GPS and AM/FM radio back in action!
