CarPlay and HUD

Hello everyone,

might be a stupid question, as I have never had a car with HUD.
If I am using apple maps using CarPlay, will the navigation show in the heads up display or is it only for built in navigation of the car.

Thanks. Do you know which maps the built in navigation uses? Is it google or its own built in maps.

Kia uses Here maps

TBH I was rather impressed with the Kia's SatNav in my Sorento; I'm assuming the Stinger uses a later version.
