Is getting new lower pressure struts for my carbon hood thats coming necessary? They say that the OEM ones can damage the hood because of the higher pressure. Is it a must to get new ones or will I be fine with the OEM struts.
I would trust them that you need them, I've seen the damage OEM ones can cause and it will ruin the hood and manufactures will deny warranty coverage so I would not risk it.
@BardiaD you definitely don't need to use low-pressure struts, but we do recommend removing the OEM struts to avoid damaging the Carbon Fiber hood over time.
This is why we recommend the Carbon Fiber Hood Prop in your original post. It's made from the same Carbon Fiber that matches the hood, and looks great as well.
@socalvn I see that you are (probably) in California. Local pickup from Seibon brings this hood to just over $1k. Send us an email so we can offer you our forum discount!
I have both, yea I know... The low pressure struts are a must. The stock ones will eventually crack your hood.
That last thing you want to deal with while working on the car is hitting the broom stick holding your hood up. Now yes I said I have the CF hood prop too. I use that at shows and C&C's so the hood isn't at full open. Just a looks thing for me.
We highly recommend using low-pressure struts or removing them completely to avoid any damage.

Oh I see, thank you for ordering that with us through the website.
That is not a problem at all, we can offer you a discount on that hood, and we can also lower pricing for that hood with local pickup from Ark Performance, just mention that in the email when you reach out.
