I know this sounds crazy but my new 2022 Scorpion keeps staring on its own and running for a while. It's happening twice in the garage, keys were in the house 20 feeet away hanging up. Dealer says they can't replicate the issue...anyone ever hear of this before and have any recommendations? Thank you, Roy.

maybe a UVO issue? it may think its receiving the remote start command from the app?

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Interesting issue... I hope this can be figured out sooner than later.

Sounds like a reasonable possibility... I wonder if a faraday enclosure would prevent that from happening, if it's the cause...

Thank you for the quick responses much appreciated. The dealer checked both ideas and said that's not the issue so it looks like I have take it home and try to replicate it myself. I'm wondering if it's something crazy like my Ring doorbell or security system possibly doimpossibly doing it? Disappointed to have to deal with this with a new car.

To be honest, Take everything the dealer says with a huge grain of salt, they know next to nothing about our cars.

Set up a camera and video it. Lay it all out prior, show where the key is and so on.

Have you considered calling a priest?
THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU!

Try keeping the fob further away, maybe wrap it in foil. Same for the 2nd fob.

Dis-enroll uvo to rule that out.

Damn connected cars. Things were simpler before.

did you by chance use the alexa skill for uvo? that can remote start as well maybe something weird there... otherwise, like others said, maybe a weird short/something messed up in the fob hitting and holding the buttons just right even when not carrying them..

Howdy and welcome. Whatever is causing this weird thing, it can only be something to do with remote start app. That would be the first thing to get rid of in troubleshooting.

Interestingly having a car turn on when it isn't supposed to has never been my issue. The opposite though has happened more times than I can count.

^^^This is the first time I've heard of a car starting on its own. The Christine meme is appropriate.

Op it may be someone trying to jack your car via tEcHNoLoGy

If it starts in the garage by itself. You can die of asphyxiation from all the fumes the dealer needs to take you more serious.

I would at least change your account password on KIA Connect/UVO. Just to ensure no one has compromised your account. Additionally, I would ask what frequency KIA Connect/UVO operates on. It would be an interesting test to see if this happens away from your house once the car is sitting for awhile. If you drive this car to work, does this happen while you are in the office?

Yeah, all jokes aside, it's a VERY serious issue. Make sure you send an email to Kia Corp and not just talk to the local service dept.
Best to have this kind of stuff in writing.

Not to mention this issue and the price of fuel at the moment....... Sheesh !
