Hi; I'm new to the forum and seriously considering a Stinger, as I need for room for "two grandchild duty". Has anyone had experience with whether two rear-facing car seats will fit in the car, and still have room for a 6' 3" driver? I love the appeal of the hatchback practicality with the fun to drive aspect of the car.

Thanks.

Hi Dave , maybe retitle the thread mentioning Childrens car seats , also try searching I'm pretty sure there have been a few posts on this issue , good luck

two rear-facing car seats

You may want to consider that child seats are not all the same and more than likely differ from brand to brand.
I would borrow the seats you are going to have to deal with and go to a dealer for a "fitting".
That way you'd know for sure and may even decide on finding a model that "custom" fits the Stinger.
Changing seats from one car to another is going to be a big pain in the (ahem) seat....

I bought the Stinger for my first (currently only) child. The infant seat, and now convertible seat, are rearward facing on the passenger side. My wife can sit in front of it (5'-7") fine, but it's a bit tight for me to be too comfortable (I'm about 5'-10"). A forward facing child car seat behind the driver would be no problem, but a rear-facing unit will take up a LOT of space for someone that is 6'-3", no matter what kind of car you drive.

Just like @moinmoin said. Bring the child car seats that you intend on using with you to the dealership. I did that with my son’s seat since he was rear facing at the time I got my Stinger. I’m 5’8”, and I placed him behind the front passenger seat so it wasn’t a huge deal for me.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Im 6 feet and just drove to Orlando with my 2 daughters in the back both on car seats rear facing, no problemo...

@GenesisG70 in which car? We have Britax Boulevard and my wife's seat is within 1/4" or less of touching the car seat. When I sit in her position, my shins are grazing or just barely touching the dash.

It really varies too much from person to person and car seat to car seat to say whether it will work for you.

I would start by purchasing a car seat if you don’t already have both of them. The height and recline angles of the seats vary, and along with it the amount of space they take up. You can try to find a seat that has a lower depth by searching for a comparison chart. Not sure if you’re looking at convertible car seats or infant seats, but for convertible seats it looks like Diono seats have shorter depths.

Once you have at least one seat, the best thing to do is take it to a dealership and test fit it. That way you can adjust the front seats to comfortable positions and see if it will work for you.
