Hi all. I am looking forward to modding my car. It was a complete disaster when I got it and am restoring it to quite possibly a race car but I'm not sure it. I really want to start with a high flow turbo but actually thinking those puppies are a little to small to even bother. Let's see. Looking forward to bouncing ideas

G’day. Welcome to the forums. Maybe go back a few steps. Tell us what you’ve got, where you got it, what’s wrong with it and where you want to go with it, then maybe people can help with more detailed advice. I’d have thought Stingers are a bit too heavy to be a race car.

@General_Vodka wants to have a talk with you. :D If you think YOUR car "was a complete disaster", you probably haven't seen anything yet. Welcome to the forum.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
oh hello, I have been summoned. I am very familiar with complete disaster stingers, what was the damage? Welcome to the forum, this is the place for new ideas. I would say stay stock turbos, for now, the tuning is not yet there for the pure or big turbo builds. 600 whp is possible on stock turbos.

I bought a water damaged car. I cant register it here so it was always going to be a test bed to see what I could get power wise and play around. I however missed the notes that it was so heavy and I can see a lot of weight is probably in the roof ha ha. Ok so my damage ... We pulled out countless litres of water IN the engine. Water in exhaust, intercooler, bores. The engine couldn't turn because it was hydto locked. I lubricated bores and valves as much as possible. Some valves were stuck we took our time and unstuck them. Completely drained the fluids and replaced (though nothing was contaminated).
Changed plugs (Not sure if already public knowledge but i can share a coresponding Denso plug number that is cooler and works - just needs gapping).
I believe these to be the hks plugs ;)
Interior wise its dry but moldy (needs a strip clean etc) most of the car works. But the seats can't move (physically stuck and electrics toast so not yet sure what I'm doing there.
Otherwise the car now drives, got taken for an alignment and looses traction when you want it to ha ha

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I want to start with the usual air filter, exhaust, intercooler. I would like to see any build threads that go further and look at high flow etc. 600hp is plenty !! is that on ethanol ?

Welcome to the hive!

G’day & welcome, looks like your going to have some fun turning that into a race/track car.
You may want to consider upgrading the Springs, Swaybars, Endlinks, Brake Rotors & Pads & even the Shocks to Coilovers. There is a ton of information on all these items here in the forum to assist you with making informed decisions.
Good luck with your project.

wow, good luck with the water damage. was it saltwater? saltwater is a nightmare, the worst kind of water damage. Compression test the engine, especially with hydrolock damage. The biggest things on mine were the right turbo swap and the power steering rack. all that is left is paint and front end assembly. IMG_4672 (1).webpResized_20200127_161939.webp
