Car charger port work with Apple car play?

Was looking at some car charger accessories that would charge my phone faster than the usual port was wondering if it still works with car play because that would be an unfortunate down side just for a faster charge if it doesn’t...

CarPlay in this vehicle requires a hard-wired USB connection, so it has to be plugged into the USB port in the front cubby.

The pad works when plugged in for car-play. I have a 6" cable with a right-angle plug so my XS fits neatly on it and the lid can be closed if desired.

Damn yeah I kinda figured it wouldn’t work... I have 2018 gt2 so I didnt get the pad with mine unfortunately. Might get that wireless car play adapter then could be a nice fix!

Buy the Qi charger assembly and add it if you wish.

It’s not that hard to install. There is a how to on the forum.

definitely something I will do in the future I’m just a bit strapped on cash atm and work isn’t giving me the hours I usually get and literally the state owes me 5k for unemployment that I can’t get because I need to call them to fix it and lines are busy 24/7 ‍. Wanted to get a wind booster and mando unit too but don’t want to go broke haha

I feel ya. The mando module is high in my list. Had it existed back then, probably would have been my first mod.

Yeah I’m not gonna do to much to my car outside of mando, wind booster, catch can, wireless charger and wrap to go all black on the roof and chrome pieces on the pillars. maybe rear sway bar and an exhaust at some point but probably won’t do for awhile
