I see a 2018 Stinger GT2 AWD available for sale in US. When I check the Carfax it was initially sold in Quebec. Then it looks like it went to auto auction in Michigan.

Would there be any problems with purchasing this vehicle in the US? Not sure what is different in Canadian vs US version and if any issues. I wouldn't think so.

Would the Canadian UVO (remote start, etc.) work in the US?

Thanks gang.

Yes. Warranty isn’t covered in the US from what I understand.

My dealer told me that the KIA warranty is good for Canada, and the USA... but I don't have it in writing - prolly worth an email to KIA USA to be sure if you are thinking of going that way

Canadian Stingers do have some different equipment specs than the US GT2, (ie no front parking sensors, but 360cam), I wouldn't expect UVO to stop working when you cross the border. but again it's worth getting an official answer if it's important to you. Canadian warranty is also 5yr, not 10

Just sent an email to Kia USA. Thanks for the suggestion.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
UVO wont work in the states. They are Bell SIMs with no roaming agreement.

Edit: Also I've had warranty work done on my Canadian Dodge minivan in the states while on vacation. It was a huge hassle but was eventually settled after a call to corporate. I believe Kia's warranty is North American.

Being an Ontario resident, and a long time employee of an aftermarket warranty company, there's a bit of a stigma with cars coming out of Quebec. I'm not sure of the ins and outs behind it, but be extra diligent in checking to see if this vehicle is a former write-off; apparently, Quebec has some diffierent rules around reporting accidents, so if it's been in one, the Carfax may not reflect it. Also, apparently they use a lot more road salt in the winter in Quebec than in other Canadian provinces, so it may rust out if it hasn't been undercoated? I don't want to kill your buzz ... but my spidey senses go off whenever it's a 'car out of Quebec'. Best of luck!

Thanks for the heads up!

Just an update. Talked to Kia USA. They said to call Kia Canada. Called Kia Canada. They told me there is no warranty for Kia cars coming to the US. Recalls would be covered, but no warranty work.

Thanks to all of you for your input.
