Interesting. What is going to be so special about the Kia 20th Anniversary Stinger? I didn't see any info on that.

It’s in the linked article.

  • Unique combination of the Ghost Grey exterior and Red Nappa interior
  • Unique 19” Machine Finished Alloy wheels
  • Custom Red Stitched Floor Mats

Oh, yeah. There it is, NOW! I must have been seriously distracted when I read through that the first two times. Heh! I want to see the "unique" wheels. The GTS Orange Limited isn't even getting anything unique in the wheels department (judging by the pics).

They took a US color combo and slapped the euro 19's on it

I posted a pic of the car , the wheels are very similar to current 19s ...................boring !

Thanks, guys! What is with my observation "skills" this morning? I have never seen any of those rims in the flesh; and now I wonder how many times in pics I have assumed that they are the U.S. OE GT rims? (or everywhere but Europe? hmm …) So, they'll be "unique" over here. :P

I went to the Kia Canada site and did a "Build and Price". I see that this model also notes Carbon Fibre trim, though it doesn't seem to detail the extent of that trim. Also interesting is that, in addition to the basic $1,500 upcharge over the standard GT Limited, you pay a $200 colour charge - interesting in that it's the only colour you can get with this package.

I did a little more checking and see that black is the only colour not subject to the $200 upcharge. A bit of bait & switch in the pricing, IMO.

I'm not a fan of the "special" wheels either. Also, kind of ironic that a Canadian special edition gets fancy embroidered floor mats. My guess is that most Canadians use a floor liner or a rubberized floor mat for driving in winter conditions, which is typically half the year.

I'd rather they simply make the red Nappa leather available with more exterior colours.

I would have paid $1500 for the red interior. The rest is useless to me.

Perhaps there will be a different badge for everyone to remove?

The carbon fiber trim is probably the same cf trim you see on the base GT in Canada. Think the only real draw for this package is the colour combo which is pretty sweet.
